01 · The atmosphere
An abandoned building in Montreuil becomes an artist’s studio and the family home. The project lies in that double request: to hold a place of work and a place of living under one roof, without either driving the other out.

The roof frame stays bare02
02 · Material & light
The roof structure stays bare above the living room: what carried the old building goes on carrying it, in plain sight. Light falls from a zenithal skylight and reaches the heart of the plan, where no façade window could have brought it.

Bespoke furniture03
03 · Uses
Each bedroom gets its own bespoke furniture, and the timber enfilade running through the house links studio to dwelling with no door to slam. The file goes as far as the electrical drawings and the setting-out per floor: a detailed design stage, not an intention.
