Longère en pierre, rue de Méru
01 · The project
A stone longhouse and its outbuildings, on a plot of two hundred and fifty-seven square metres in the Oise. The fabric is there, whole, and it has never been lived in: the whole work consists in making it a dwelling without erasing what gives it its length and its thickness.
02 · Programme & uses
The openings were already there. The fabric offered its own, and the project uses them rather than cutting new ones: the joinery simply comes to sit in them, turned towards the best the site has to give. Roof windows complete from above, where the façade can give no more.
03 · The site
The file advances by issues: a first version, then a second, each dated. Between the two it is not the project that changes but the precision of what is said about it, and that precision is what an authority expects from a consent application.
